Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We mainly work in Painswick and the surrounding villages, but we do also cover areas of Gloucester. If you’re just outside these areas, please get in touch — we may still be able to reach you.
We use a water fed pole system. This means that we clean your windows from the ground only. This most often eliminates the need for ladders.
When cleaning external windows, we use a water-fed pole system with purified water.
Because the water is purified and free from minerals and residue, it dries naturally without streaks — so a squeegee isn’t required.
This method also allows us to clean frames and sills thoroughly as part of the service.
It is a commonly held belief that windows should not be cleaned when it rains because the rain will just make them dirty again. Is this really a fact? No!
The simple fact is, dirt makes your windows dirty, not rain. The only reason your windows appear to be dirtier after rainfall is because the window was dirty to begin with and the rain has clung onto the dirt, dust, pollen and muck and stuck to the window. If the window and frame are both clean, the rain will not cling to the glass and simply roll off the window, leaving the glass clean. This is due to rain water being much, much purer than tap water.
Avoiding having your windows cleaned in rainy and wet weather will instead, in the long-term, cause irreparable damage due to water and mineral-stain build up on the glass. As glass is porous, any matter left on the glass in the long term can penetrate the fabric and become an integral part of the glass. Most stains will clean off if you get to them reasonably quickly. If dirt is left on a window frame, that too can also cause discolouration.
So when we send our courtesy reminder the day before we come to clean your windows yet there's rain in the forecast - please be assured of the above explanation as to why you don't need to cancel!
Yes. Many properties in Painswick and the surrounding villages have traditional sash, multi-pane or leaded windows, and we clean these regularly.
We use a specialist soft-bristled brush and gentle water flow, applying light pressure to loosen dirt before rinsing with purified water. This method is safe for delicate glass and leaded panels.
As each pane needs to be cleaned and rinsed carefully to avoid drips and watermarks, these windows can take longer than modern single-pane glass. This additional time may be reflected in the quotation.
We offer both regular maintenance window cleaning and one-off or infrequent cleans.
The most suitable frequency depends on the property, location, level of exposure and how quickly dirt builds up. This is discussed and confirmed at the quotation stage.
Every property is different — the number of windows, access, height, and how often you want cleaning all affect cost. We prefer to see the property (in person or from customer-provided photos) so we can offer a fair, accurate quote.
Yes. We have £5 million public liability insurance.
For window cleaning we use purified water only — chemical-free and streak-free. For other exterior work (e.g., conservatories or frames), we use eco-friendly products.
No. So long as the windows are closed and we can gain access to your property.
For window cleaning — no. We carry our own water system in the van.
For other exterior cleaning, an outside tap may be helpful.
Clarico is a latin word, meaning 'Shine & Gleam'. Hopefully a good reflection (excuse the pun!) of our work!
